Dept. of Digital Technology & Culture (DTC)

The Department of Digital Technology & Culture at Washington State University is a multidiciplinary program focused on the intersection of art and technology—teaching students how to design, create, and think critically about digital media and the role we play in its use and development. For two years, I served as a graphic design intern for the DTC Department, where I co-designed a new visual system and brand guidelines. During my time there, I also created a wide range of print and digital materials, including event posters, informational pamphlets, social media and website graphics, and other engagement pieces. My work was displayed across campus, posted online to the DTC Website and social media, as well as handed out to current and prospective students.

The visual identity of DTC was developed by drawing inspiration from imagery we curated, allowing us to develop a unique & cohesive style.

The resulting aesthetic is characterized by a primarily duotone color scheme, along with manipulating text elements through techniques like stacking, cutting, outlining, and repetition. It also incorporates dynamic line weights and clean geometric shapes.

This identity is designed to be modular—flexible enough to adapt to various contexts while maintaining a unified, core aesthetic that ties each design back to the DTC brand.
